How to Add Custom Tokens to Trust Wallet

Do you want to add custom tokens to the mobile app wallet? In this guide, you will learn how you can add a custom network to Trust wallet.

Trust Wallet is the best mobile app for storing crypto assets.

It deals with four primary types of tokens (i.e. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance and Smart Chain).

Newer coins in these categories might not have made their way to the list of tokens supported by Trust Wallet.

This means that, when you add any of these unknown assets, they won’t reflect in your wallet balance.

However, you can face problems trying to add an unfamiliar token to the decentralized crypto wallet.

That’s not to say you cannot add a custom token to the wallet, but you must follow a certain procedure to get unlisted coins on Trust Wallet.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to add custom tokens to Trust Wallet, so you can see their balance.

Let’s dive in…

How to add a custom token to Trust Wallet

As new coins are constantly being released, the token you want to add might not be listed on the wallet.

If this is the case, you can use the instructions below to add a custom token to Trust Wallet.

Bear in mind that this procedure will only work if the cryptocurrency is sent using a compatible blockchain.

In other words, to add a custom token on your Trust Wallet, you will first have to find its contract address on CoinMarketCap.

Follow these steps below to get a custom token added to your Trust Wallet safely:

  1. Go-to CoinMarketCap website
  2. Click the search icon at the top bar
  3. Input name of the token you want to add
  4. Click on the token to view its details
  5. Navigate to the bottom of the page
  6. Click copy icon next to ‘Contracts’ option
  7. Now open your Trust Wallet app
  8. Click search icon at the top of the screen
  9. Search for the cryptocurrency token
  10. Click ‘Add Custom Token’ option on the list
  11. Select the appropriate blockchain network
  12. Then paste the token contract address
  13. Enter name and other details of the token
  14. Remember to click ‘Save’ at the top-right.

Congratulation… the custom token has been added successfully to the Trust Wallet, and will reflect in your account balance.

Wrapping up

Trust Wallet is my favorite crypto wallet that allows storage and swapping of tokens without third-party services.

Although it supports a large number of networks, it doesn’t have an exhaustive list of every coin in the market.

To add a custom token is done manually, and if you follow the tutorial above, you will know how to add coins to Trust Wallet.

Once you are done with entire the process, your new balance should include the new cryptocurrency.

Additionally, CoinMarketCap is a go-to platform for contract addresses, because the site’s primary purpose is to track tokens.

If your currency isn’t available on the CoinMarketCap, you can look for the address on the coin’s website.
