BSC to Cronos bridge is quite easy.

Crypto.org’s public blockchain is Cronos, and also relatively a new introduction to the DeFi world.

It is open sourced, secure, and the blockchain maintains low gas fees, which means that your swap will cost almost the same as that of BSC.

Perhaps, you may want to use some of the features on BSC (Binance Smart Chain).

In this article is a step-by-step guide on how to bridge from Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to Cronos Chain (CRO) using EVOdefi cross-chain token bridge.

Let’s begin.

How to bridge BSC to CRO

To bridge to Cronos chain from BSC (Binance Smart Chain) successfully, we’ll be using EvoDeFi network bridge.

They will provide you with a small amount of tokens for the destination network, so that you can swap out the crypto easily.

In this scenario, EVO is going to provide you with 2 CRO for your first gas fees.

If you’re holding BNB, you’ll need to swap the coin to USDT using PancakeSwap crypto exchange.

Now that you have a stablecoin for the bridging, follow these steps below to bridge from Binance chain to Cronos.

  1. Visit EvoDefi bridge network
  2. Connect your crypto wallet to the network
  3. Select ‘BSC’ on the ‘From’ drop-down option
  4. Select ‘Cronos’ from the ‘To’ option list
  5. Choose USDT from the ‘Token’ list
  6. Enter your Cronos USDT wallet address
  7. Enter the amount of USDT to bridge
  8. Exercise patient and wait.

If you have not bridged any cryptocurrency before, you may have to learn some skills in having patience.

Bridging takes time – especially with newer networks.

Once your BSC USDT is bridged over to CRO USDT, you will be able to see balance in Cronos network account.

If you want to move your bridged token to MetaMask, then you’ll need to first of all, add Cronos network to the wallet account.

How to add CRO network to MetaMask

Click your MetaMask icon (i.e. if you’re using the browser extension), and click network drop-down menu.

Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Add Network’ to open a new tab, where you will fill in the details of Cronos network as follows:

  • Network name: Cronos
  • New RPC URL: https://evm-cronos.crypto.org
  • Chain ID: 25
  • Currency Symbol: CRO
  • Block Explorer URL: https://cronos.crypto.org/explorer/

After you’ve accurately filled in the details, don’t forget to click the ‘Save’ button, and you can now swap the USDT to CRO.

How to swap USDT to CRO on MetaMask

There are many platforms for swapping crypto-coins tokens online, but we will be using MMFinance for this process.

Before you start the swapping process, make sure you switched to Cronos network on your MetaMask wallet.

Once that is done, you can follow these steps below:

  1. Visit MMFinance platform
  2. Connect your MetaMask wallet
  3. Go-tothe ‘Trade’ tab on the nav bar
  4. Select ‘Exchange’ from the option
  5. Choose USDT as token to convert
  6. Then select CRO as crypto to receive
  7. Now click the ‘Swap’ button to start.

Congratulations, you’re now holding CRO on the Cronos network, and you can also buy your first CRO token.

Over to you

If you follow the guide to this extent, I will believe you can now do BSC to Cronos bridge successfully.

Since the network is still new, keep it in mind that majority of the tokens being deployed are Degens (meaning; low liquidity, volatile and short-term).

In other words, you should always invest the amount of funds you can afford to lose in the crypto asset.
