Ripple has become the second most dominant cryptocurrency after Bitcoin.
Advancements in technology and use of internet may have opened doors for market globalization, but they’ve done little to improve the payment system.
Ripple Lab, Inc. is one of the few fintech companies that has come up with a solution to this problem.
There has been no better time to invest in Ripple cryptocurrency, with many individuals making thousands monthly from XRP coin.
There are many ways to invest in this crypto project, however, I found out that one particular method of purchasing XRP seemed to be quite difficult (i.e. Purchasing Ripple XRP using PayPal).
Due to the issue with PayPal’s chargebacks, it’s not an easy way to buy XRP directly, as many vendors choose to accept other methods of payment such as; Credit card, Bank transfers and Bitcoin.
In this guide, you are required to buy Bitcoin cryptocurrency firstly, then exchange it for XRP using any crypto exchange that allows it.
Let’s get start already!
What you need before buying XRP
Let’s first take a quick look at everything you will need before starting the process to purchase any amount of Ripple cryptocurrency you want with PayPal.
1. An active crypto wallet
There are several cryptocurrency wallets, but your choice will depend on security features of the chosen wallet, type of device (if it’s a hardware wallet), its operating system, the fee that each wallet charges per transaction, and whether the wallet is an app.
2. An active PayPal account
Make sure that your PayPal account is active, and funded with amount that would be enough for the amount of cryptocurrency you want to buy.
PayPal allows you to fund it with either Visa or MasterCard.
3. Determine how much you want to invest
Establishing how much money you will invest in purchasing Bitcoin is an importance strategy, because it will help you to keep track of your cryptocurrency investment portfolio in check.
Now that you’ve known all that is required before buying XRP coin, let me take you straight through the process of investing in Ripple cryptocurrency through PayPal.
How to buy Ripple through PayPal
I hate to disappoint you, but there’s no cryptocurrency platform that allow buying Ripple (XRP) coins using PayPal account directly.
You’ll have to buy another crypto-coin like; Bitcoin for example, then exchange them for XRP on a crypto exchange that has XRP/BTC on its list of pairs.
1. Buy Bitcoin using PayPal
LocalBitcoins is a great P2P (Peer-to-Peer) platform for buying and selling Bitcoin.
The advantage of LocalBitcoins over other platforms is that, it supports a range of payment methods that are unavailable to investors in most regular exchanges.
It connects buyers and sellers around the world, making it super easy to find someone who’ll accept your chosen payment method.

To buy BTC using PayPal, go through the offers on the site and search for “PayPal” offers directly to find a seller that agrees to be paid with PayPal.
Different sellers might offer different rates.
Once you find any vendor that you seem to like based on the trustworthiness, rating and reviews, you can finalize the order by clicking the ‘Buy’ button and following the subsequent processes.

2. Exchange the BTC for XRP
At this point, finding a good cryptocurrency platform to exchange the BTC you’ve just bought for the sought-for XRP is very important.
Nowadays, there are many crypto exchanges at your disposal, but finding a reliable one might be very tricky for some individuals.
It’s definitely worth looking into buying your XRP using one of the highly recommended ones, so you can checkout some of the best exchanges in the market.
Personally, I like using CoinSwitch, a crypto exchange aggregator that supports over 170 different cryptocurrencies and exchanges.
On the homepage, just input your desired cryptocurrency you would like to receive in your wallet account in exchange for the Bitcoin.
You’d be surprised by the platform’s affordable fees, the smooth and straightforward experience it offers.
If you don’t really know much about this unique cryptocurrency platform yet, you can read my CoinSwitch exchange detailed review.
Another reliable option is Changelly, where you also have the option to buy XRP directly with credit or debit card, instead of PayPal.
You should consider Changelly, if the payment methods sounds much easier to you, and you don’t mind the slightly higher transaction fees that goes with it.
Where to buy Ripple with PayPal
Ripple is more commonly purchased with other cryptocurrencies, and I’ve found a few exchanges, where you can purchase either BTC via PayPal, and finally exchange it for XRP.
LocalBitcoins has been around for a long time, and has because of this been able to build up and establish a positive reputation in the bitcoin industry.
This site allows you to Buy and sell bitcoin with members from around the world, while serving as an escrow between you and the vendor.
There is a very low transaction fee of 1%, which is taken from sellers, however once transferring to your wallet, or another exchange Bitcoin network fees applies.
Paxful is another Peer to Peer exchange that allows you to purchase Bitcoin instantly with PayPal and several other means of payment.
When visiting the site you simply input the amount of Bitcoins required, and then select PayPal as a payment, Paxful platform will then list available BTC to purchase from sellers.
Each seller has a reputation from past trades and each specifies their Bitcoin exchange rate.
Over to you now
To buy Ripple using PayPal requires some rigorous processes, which has to do with buying an established cryptocurrency, then swap it for XRP coins.
