Crypto paper wallet does not show you current balance and holding.

Paper wallet is among what is categorized as Brain wallets – you either memorize or write them down on a sheet of paper.

To check the balance and value your holdings in fiat currency, you will need to use a free blockchain explorer service.

In this guide, I’ll show you some of the available options for different cryptocurrencies.

Let’s begin.

1. Decide which service to use

Most blockchain explorers are developed for a particular cryptocurrency, while some can work with a few most popular ones.

However, none cover all the most popular crypto-coins.

Check out the list below and pick one of the services based on the crypto of your paper wallet:

Bitcoin (BTC)

Etherum (ETH)

Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Litecoin (LTC)

DogeCoin (DOGE)

2. Find your public key

Once you’ve decided which block explorer you will use, then you need to enter your public key into it.

Those tools use public keys to retrieve your transaction history, balance and usually also fiat currency value.

3. Copy public key into explorer

You will need to copy your private key into the required space on the blockchain explorer platform.

Alternatively, you can make use of QR code of your public address, which is simple to scan, instead of copying the address manually.

Final words

Once you follow the simple steps above, you’ll know how to check your crypto paper wallet balance without glitches.

These steps above are how to see wallet balance on the cryptocurrency paper wallet.

To make things easier next time, you should also bookmark the block explorer link on your browser for ease of access.

Additionally, to make the entire process easier, you can use an app for tracking the balance.

I’m using CoinTracker.

After the first setup, just open the app to check your paper wallets – no need to search addresses in explorer every time.
