How to Close and Delete Your Crypto.com Account

If you will like to close your Crypto.com exchange account, read this guide to see the steps you'll follow to delete your data from their server completely.

The Crypto.com is yet another good centralized exchange platform.

You can send, receive, stake, or withdraw cryptocurrencies and some other digital assets easily on the exchange.

Creating an account on Crypto.com is just a breezy process, just like most platforms you’ll find out there.

All you need is a valid email address/phone number and a secure password.

Creating an account on the exchange comes with many perks including a Visa card which you can fund with your crypto holdings.

Even with all the perks on Crypto.com, some users may still decide to leave the exchange.

However, Crypto.com is not the only exchange in the market, and you may want to switch to another exchange with better offers.

These offers may include lower fees, higher sign-up bonuses, better security etc.

To delete your account, there are things you should know about the process of terminating your account.

Firstly, the platform does not delete all your data stored on its servers when your account deletion request is granted.

Secondly, any crypto balance remaining after the account termination process will be lost permanently.

Finally, if you use the Crypto.com VISA card, there will be a $50 card closure fee charged to convert and returned the funds to your account.

Alternatively, you can simply choose to spend the card’s balance to zero, so no fee will be incured on your account.

Futhermore, it’s advisable to withdraw, or spend all the available balances on your account before closing it.

Now you know what’s involved, let me show you how to close your account on Crypto.com permanently.

Let’s begin…

How to delete crypto.com account

Bear in mind that deleting your account is not reversible, so you won’t have access to it ever again.

In order to be safe, we’re assuming that you’ve already have all your crypto investments and balances transferred out of your account wallet.

If you’ve done that already, then you can follow the processes below to close and delete your account on Crypto.com exchange.

Step 1: Withdraw all your crypto balances

To withdraw from Crypto.com to another exchange (e.g. Binance), or an offline wallet like Ledger, you first need to get the correct wallet address.

When you get the wallet address, head over to the Crypto.com exchange dashboard and add the address to your withdrawal whitelist.

Once the address is added to your withdrawal whitelist, navigate to the ‘Balances’ tab and click on the ‘Withdraw’ button next to the crypto to be transferred.

Next, click on the ‘Select’ button next to the external wallet address to transfer funds to the wallet.

Finally, enter wallet address, amount and select the wallet type, then click on ‘Review Withdrawal’ to transfer your crypto holdings.

Step 2: Request for Crypto.com account closure

Unlike other exchanges where there is a section in the settings to delete or deactivate your account, Crypto.com seems different.

The only way to delete your account on Crypto.com is by sending an account closure request to the support team using your primary email address.

The Crypto.com support team email address is [email protected].

In the email, explain why your account should be deleted and their representative will take it up from there.

However, you may need to go through process of verifying that you’re the real owner of the account before closure.

Once your identity is confirmed, someone from the Crypo.com team will process your account closure request.

Congratulations… you have successfully terminated your Crypto.com exchange account!

After closing your account, to use Crypto.com exchange again, you will have to create an account and go through the KYC process as a new user.

Final words

Do not request to delete your Crypto.com account if you still have some cryptocurrencies remaining in your wallet account balance.

When your account gets deleted, you’ll not be able to retrieve your invested funds.

If you have remaining cryptocurrency balances, you will have to transfer them to another exchange platform.

Personally, I will recommend Binance exchange, because it’s one of the best exchanges in the market.

All you will need is the cryptocurrency address that you want to deposit to.

Let’s say you want to transfer Bitcoin from Crypto.com to Binance, you need to copy your BTC wallet address from Binance.

Then, paste it on the Bitcoin sending page on Crypto.com, and the withdrawal process will typically take 30~60 minutes to complete.

Closing and deleting your Crypto.com account is non-reversible, and your details can take up-to 5 years to be deleted from the server.

This is due to compliance with government requirements and obligations in the region that they operate.
